GENTLEMAN PERISTALTIC PUMP
General description of the Gentleman Rectilineal Peristaltic Pump
The Gentleman rectilineal peristaltic pump is designed to transfer dense or very delicate liquids in applications where high pressure at the outlet is not required, with capacities from 100 to 1400 liters/hour. The Gentleman pump is certified as meeting standards of the European Union as to safety, electromagnetic compatibility, and electric materials.
The pump comprises a base support made from injected plastic containing the screw, which is the main part of the pumping mechanism. The screw is connected to the motor through a reducer which ensures the best pump speed. The screw is separated from the rubber hose, through which the liquid is forced, by a teflon canvas which avoids contact between the screw and the hose and keeps wear and tear on the hose to a minimum. The unit is mounted on wheels to make transportation easy.

The working principle
The screw as it rotates under the green canvas presses the hose, which is held in place by the upper white press, and transfers the liquid.
There are two working positions : priming and liquid transfer. The upper white press has two stainless steel levers with two teeth. In the priming mode, the screw presses the walls of the empty hose together thus creating a vacuum to start liquid flow. Once the pump is primed, the stainless steel levers are adjusted to the liquid transfer mode, where the screw does not press the walls of the hose together, enabling the liquid to be pumped extremely delicately.

The hose
The Gentleman pump can be used with either 25mm or 38mm diameter hose and fittings.
The hose is made from Santoprene (Reg.) grade 271-64 thermoplastic rubber with a high physical and chemical resistance. Laboratory tests have shown the rubber should last for up to 10000 working hours before replacement. Santoprene (reg) rubber meets FDA requirements and can be used with a wide range of chemicals products at temperatures up to 125 degrees C.
Santoprene (reg) grade 271-64 is authorised for use with non-fatty foods as a closure sealing gasket in accordance with the FDA Code of Federal register 21 CFR 1210. The types of food excluded from compliance with this regulation are described in table 3 of CFR 1210, namely IVa dairy products and modifications (water-in-oil emulsions, high or low fat) and V Low moisture fats and oils.
Grade 271-64 also complies with 21 CFR 2600: "Rubber articles intended for repeated use" with non fatty foods.
Grade 271-64 also complies with 21 CFR 175.105 which is the FDA standard for use in adhesives.
Grade 271-64 is accepted by the US Department of Agrculture for use in slaughtering, processing, transporting or storage areas in direct contact with meat or poultry food products prepared under Federal inspection.
Why use a Gentleman pump?
-The only part of the pump in contact with the liquid is the hose and the accessories connected to the hose
-There is no friction and the pump transfer the liquid in a gentle(manly) way without modifying the physical or chemical characteristics of the liquid.
-The pump can run dry without wear and tear
-The hose can be replaced rapidly without the use of just a small screwdriver for the jubilee clip screws
-No maintenance is required
-The pump is volumetric and reversible.
-The pump is self-priming up to 3 meters.
-Pressure at the outlet is 6 meters.
Where is the Gentleman pump used?
Creams, glycerine, vaseline, shampoo, gel, soaps, detergents, perfumes, latex, water glue, water paint, ink, pigments, oil, greases, fruit juices, fruit concentrates, marmalades, jams, honey, molasses, wines, beers, alcohol, plasma, blood, aseptic fluids, ceramic pastes, alkalis etc
Which industries use the Gentleman pump?
The Gentleman pump is typically used in the chemicals, biochemicals, cosmetics, pharmceuticals, dermo=pharmaceuticals, food, paper, ceramics, paints, electroplating, inks and and many other industries, especially where liquids are delicate and dense.
