SCHEDULE 14 : VISUAL PRESENTATION OF THE MODEL FOR SELF-FINANCED INTEGRATED DEVELOPMENT FOR TRANSPARENTS OR POWERPOINT PRESENTATIONS
Edition 01: 30th May, 2002
Introduction
The following material is for use for lectures on self-financing development concepts and techniques. It is not intended to be "complete". For instance, quality of life is strongly influenced not only by the physical factors (water, food, health, housing) mentioned, but also by important social factors. Obviously "compromises" have to be made to enable the main features and the far-reaching consequences of an innovative, holistic, vision of development to be presented in an hour or less.
Full details on recommended technologies are included in the Model documents. In case of presentations on specific aspects of a project application under the Model, illustrations can be taken from the Model and inserted. By way of example, if focus is on economics, analysis of the monetised and non-monetised aspects of economies can be extended by taking material from specific papers on the subject. If focus is on water supply, details on solar pumps, handpumps, water tanks can be added. If focus is on sanitation, the information on waste disposal structures can be extended by drawings of the proposed dry toilets structures and toilet tanks. If focus is on hygiene education, more details on the hygiene education course can be given. If focus is on how the structures are to be set up, specific attention can be given to the Moraisian capacitation workshops. And so on...
